Have you been anxious about Christmas coming? No, I’m not talking about being anxious because you cannot wait to open up that special gift under the tree or you cannot wait to give that special gift to a special someone. No, I’m talking about the negative anxiousness that has been on you for the past few days/weeks/months. What is it that your are anxious about? Have you told anyone about your anxiety?
Consider some of these verses that deal with anxiety, mediate on them.

Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs him down, but a good word makes him glad.

For I confess my iniquity; I am full of anxiety because of my sin.
Psalms 94:19 (NIV)
When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought joy to my soul.

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
If you are feeling anxious then you should take some time out right now and do the following:
- Pray and Journal to God exactly what you are anxious about. Take the time to write your thoughts down as clearly as possible.
- Talk to a Godly and Trusted Friend. This is important, talk to a friend who will not try to “fix you”, but will simply listen to you (and maybe you should tell them that before you start to dump). In fact you might need to say that to them; “Please don’t try to fix me, I just to to tell you why I am anxious.” Talk to a good friend will help you organize your thoughts and your friend can ask you direct questions to help you think more clearly about the issues you are struggling with.
- Protect your health – be sure you are eating healthy (is that even possible during the Holidays), sleeping enough (at least 6-8 hours a night, not a week), take time to exercise 30 min. a day – here’s what the Mayo Clinic says about regular exercise and you mood:
Need an emotional lift? Or need to blow off some steam after a stressful day? A workout at the gym or a brisk 30-minute walk can help. Physical activity stimulates various brain chemicals that may leave you feeling happier and more relaxed. You may also feel better about your appearance and yourself when you exercise regularly, which can boost your confidence and improve your self-esteem.
