What does it mean to betray someone? Be-Tray (Be = “totally” or “thoroughly” and Tray = “Hand Over” from the latin origin)
“expose (one’s country, a group, or a person) to danger by treacherously giving information to an enemy.” from Google Dictionary
John 13:1-2 (NLT) – Before the Passover celebration, Jesus knew that his hour had come to leave this world and return to his Father. He had loved his disciples during his ministry on earth, and now he loved them to the very end. 2It was time for supper, and the devil had already prompted Judas, son of Simon Iscariot, to betray Jesus.
Imagine sitting in the room with Jesus and His disciples the night before the crucifixion. You’re sitting there watching the body language of Judas as he interacts with the other disciples and Jesus. The setting, the group was having an intimate meal together and listened to more teaching and instruction from Jesus… He was also washing their feet.
How does Judas act? What does he do? Does he laugh with them in conversation? Does he join in on the dialog? Or is he distant, (not physically, but emotionally distant from the group)?
