Deeply Disturbed.
Heartbroken.
Angry. Irritated. Confused. Overwhelmed. Critical. Hateful. Hurt.
These feelings and many others might be what you are feeling right now because of the news that was released last week about Ravi Zacharias and his hidden sins.
What Now?
What do you do with these raw emotions you are feeling?
How do you keep from becoming sarcastic, cynical, and even turning from God?
Do this for YOU.
TALK
Talk to a close and trusting friend. Share with them your thoughts and feelings on this traumatic event. Cry with them. Express what you are feeling and WHY you are feeling it. Ask them to just listen, even when you seem to be out-of-sorts.
Be Angry
The Bible says to “…Be angry and do not sin…” (Ephesians 4). Go ahead and give yourself permission to be angry. Go for a walk in the woods and YELL at God (He can take it). Tell God you are confused and irritated by yet another “Godly” leader not living a life of integrity. God can contain our anger and He understands our anger. Think about all the times he was angry with his people as they wandered in the wilderness (i.e. read the book of Exodus). Give yourself permission to be angry.
PLAN
What is your plan to not have the same or similar moral failure? Ben Franklin said, “A failure to plan is a plan to fail.” ANYONE can have a moral failure, ANYONE. Do not be too proud to think it could never happen to you. Galatians 6 gives us a warning as we help those who struggle with moral sins:
Galatians 6:1 (NLT2) – Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself.
Go back to your close friends and/or spouse and talk about your plan for avoiding a moral failure.

I Want To Help
Are you a ministry leader or pastor? I want to help you develop a plan for your life and stay clear of moral failures. I am an expert in helping ministry leaders. Here is the testimony of a recent client/ministry leader:
I knew when I wandered into your office I was searching for the next chapter in my life. I knew in my heart I had to figure a way to pull myself back firmly onto the path GOD INTENDED me to walk on. GOD USED you to help me first focus on squaring myself away so that I might be of better use to others. It is nothing less than another GOD SENT MIRACLE that I’ve landed where I am. I know to acknowledge that it will only be with the LORD’S HELP & the people he’s provided me for guidance & mentoring that I’ll be able to stay the course. Thank You for helping me steer clear of the abyss. You truly are doing GOD’S WORK, my friend. Jeff
