I don’t believe in magic bullets, I want too, but I know it will leave me empty-handed. If you’re not sure what a magic bullet is, it’s the belief that there is a short-cut to success. A free pass for losing weight or getting those abs you want. There is no magic bullet. But the Bible has a principle that has stood true for thousands of years. It’s simple and easy to do, and it can bring great success.
Galatians 6:9-10 (NLT) – So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith.
Breaking Down The Passage:
Don’t get tired of doing what is good. Life is hard, but the Bible is reminding us to stay the course and keep pushing forward.
At just the right time… God has a plan for us and at just the right time He will bring it to completion, but it is contingent on us continually doing the right things.
…We will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. God’s blessing is coming, so don’t quit now!
THEREFORE… But wait, There’s more!
…whenever we have the opportunity… Keep your eyes open for the opportunities around you.
…we should do good to everyone… Keep your eyes open to see how we can bless those around us.
…especially to those in the family of faith. It’s impossible to help everyone. But if we know a fellow believer is in need of help and we can bless them it is our job to do just that.
One Last Thought
I love this passage, it reminds me that God wants to bless us. Some of His blessings come our way and we don’t have to do a thing except to accept the blessing. Other times, the blessings from God are contingent on our own behavior, and behavior is something we are in control of.
This past December, the church I attend asked me to give a lesson on Setting Goals. I believe this passage (Galatians 6:9-10) is the little secret to reaching our goals. You can watch the lesson HERE and if you ever want a formal session of life coaching, give me a call.
