Living An Extraordinary Life
In one short week, everyone’s life in America has changed drastically. What’s more, the changes that will be coming in the days ahead will increase, I suspect, at an exponential rate. So, I would like us to consider a key passage for the Biblical Book of Galatians, I would like us to be leaders in an environment that is changing rapidly. I would like us to all live an extraordinary life.
Over the next several days we will be going verse by verse through Galatians 6:1-10.
Questions? Think of a time you were not very responsible, and you paid a great price for it, what happened?
Early in marriage, I did have great eating or physical health habits. After about 10 years of eating whatever, whenever and however I wanted I started to pay a price with poor health (and other poor habits). I had to have an intervention of sorts to get my attention.
To wake me from my life of irresponsibility. Today I enjoy better health and physical fitness and honestly, I don’t regret it at all.
What about you? Have you been irresponsible in an aspect of your life and had to pay a price for it?
Consider the biblical text:
Galatians 6:1-10 (NLT2) – Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself. 2Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ. 3If you think you are too important to help someone, you are only fooling yourself. You are not that important.
4Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else. 5For we are each responsible for our own conduct.
6Those who are taught the word of God should provide for their teachers, sharing all good things with them.
7Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant. 8Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit. 9So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. 10Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith.
Life is moving fast right now and we are either reacting to changes or we are moving ahead of them. Are you feeling discouraged, or fearful, or confused, or even overwhelmed by the circumstances happening around you?
Fear Not.
This week, join me each day over the next several days to see how to move from the ordinary to the extraordinary.
