What would you do with $800 million?

The first thought you had was $80,000,000 to the church (tithing).  Right?

$800 million is the cash payout for the huge PowerBall lotto.

Does $800 million change a person?

Tainted wealth has no lasting value, but right living can save your life. The LORD will not let the godly go hungry, but he refuses to satisfy the craving of the wicked. Lazy people are soon poor; hard workers get rich.

This past weekend when the dollar amount was shared about this week’s lottery drawing; I have to admit, I thought about what I would do if I won… it was fun to dream about the “good” I could do with the money.  But then I started to think about other things that I think are bigger than $800 million… a person’s character.  If I don’t have the character to handle $800, $80, or even $8 then what makes me think I could handle $800 million.

Money cannot save a life but it can destroy a life.  So, I will ask this question instead; What are you placing your hope in?  $800 million in the wrong hands will ruin a life or lives; but, HOPE placed on Jesus Christ and right living will lead to a fulfilling life and joy.

So, did you buy a lotto ticket?  Don’t tell me; no.  But, please don’t place your hope in winning a lottery; instead, develop your character so that when you do have $$$$ you will have the integrity to leverage it.
