The Next Right Thing
Several weeks ago, I had a terrible day. So bad that I started feeling depressed. In fact, I stayed in bed the following day a little longer than usual, and I didn’t feel very motivated.
I was in a bad place.
I started doubting myself and God.
Have you ever been there, depressed and helpless?
What do you do when you feel helpless, and life is out of control?
Here’s what I did, and it jumped started the rest of my day, week, and month.
I did the next RIGHT thing.
We all have days like this. So when you start feeling down and helpless, muster all your mental energy to do the next right thing.
It doesn’t have to be BIG; it must be the next right thing for the moment.
What did I do?
- I got out of bed.
- I made the bed.
- I took care of myself (hygiene, food, and coffee)
- I did something positive for my family
- I did something positive for me
- I did something positive for my business
Here’s the point: I couldn’t even think about numbers 4-6 on the list above when I was lying in bed. So I just had to get out of bed. Once I was out of bed, I had to do the next RIGHT thing – make it.
